22/02/2012: RESULTS OF THE CONSULAR OUTREACH IN LAS VEGAS, NV

Los Angeles, 21 February 2012 – Consul General Mary Jo Bernardo Aragon led a team from the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles and conducted a two-day consular outreach program in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A. on 18 – 19 February 2012.

 

The consular outreach program was undertaken in cooperation with the University of the Philippines Alumni Association of Nevada (UPAAN) headed by Ms. Beth Ilagan, President.

 

A total of 696 consular services were rendered during the consular outreach program, breakdown of which are as follows:

Consul General Aragon was accompanied by Vice Consul Mary Joy B. Ramirez, Misses Rowena Ma. Carmen Sierra, Anna Liza Salvador, Ma. Melchora Tagle and Veronica Baculio, and Messrs. Manuel Moran & Amor Ibañez.

 

The Consular Outreach Program is a regular activity of the Consulate to bring its various services closer to its constituents residing in areas within its jurisdiction.

 

Prior to the holding of the Consular Outreach Program, the Consul General met with members of the U.S. Congress to seek support for the Save Our Industries (SAVE) Act, a bill currently pending in the Congress.  Meetings were held in the offices of Representatives Joe Heck and  Shelley Berkley.
