23/12/2011: ADVISORY #2: APPEAL TO THE FIL-AM COMMUNITY
Los Angeles, 23 December 2011 – Further to our earlier advisory/press release on the aftermath of the devastation left by Typhoon Sendong (International Name: Washi) in the provinces of Northern Mindanao and Negros Oriental, the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles wishes to extend its appreciation to all the members of Filipino-American community and private individuals for their generosity and efforts to raise funds for the victims.
As the Consulate monitors all relief operations and donations from our areas of jurisdiction, it would be appreciated if donors could inform the Consulate of their generosity through email at cultural_pcgla@yahoo.com.
Despite the generous donations received from government agencies, foreign government, and organizations, the religious, civic and business communities, and private individuals, thousands are still reeling from the disaster.
