Los Angeles, 19 December 2011 – In the aftermath of the devastation left by Typhoon Sendong in the provinces of Northern Mindanao and Negros Oriental, interested parties are advised to send their donations to the following:

Monetary donations may best be channeled through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council NDRRMC via www.ndrrmc.gov.ph which does overall coordination with other government agencies.
Interested parties are likewise reminded that in sending relief goods/items to the Philippines to refer to the “Revised Omnibus Guidelines in the Management and Processing of Donations (Administrative Order No. 06 series of 2010) at http://dswd.gov.ph/index.php/downloads/category/40-2010.
Aside from the procedures that are enumerated for processing donations, donors’ attention is invited to item IV (General Policies) No. 3, 3.2 which prohibits accepting used clothing to safeguard the health of the people.
“Guidelines for Foreign Donations” to calamity victims can be accessed under the “Advisory” tab of the DFA website www.dfa.gov.ph. The guidelines include how to donate to non-government institutions. |
